Work of All India Institute of Ayurveda and Yoga-Naturopathy in Goa in progress - Union Minister Shripad Naik
Panjim : I am happy to have the opportunity to work for the last seven years through the Union Ministry of AYUSH. The work of All India Ayurveda Institute at a cost of Rs. 300 crore and Yoga and Naturopathy Education Institute at a cost of Rs. 200 crore is in progress in the state through Ministry of AYUSH, stated Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways and Tourism Shri Shripad Naik. He was addressing the ‘Ayurveda Day’ Celebrations organized by Regional Ayurveda Research Institute for Mineral and Marine Medicinal Resources today.
After the formation of the Union Ministry of AYUSH, in just one and a half years ‘International Day of Yoga’ was adopted globally, this is a great achievement of the ministry. During the Covid-19 Pandemic, the world realized the importance of Ayurveda. In this crisis, India supplied Ayurvedic medicines and aid to 150 countries, said Shripad Naik. The Union Minister advised the students to study and cultivate Ayurveda.
The Centre government has sanctioned 100 wellness centers along with the national level All India Ayurveda Institute in the state, out of these 10 wellness centers started functioning, informed Shri Naik. As a Minister for AYUSH, Medicinal plant cultivation was promoted through the Medicinal Corporation, now its results are visible, the minister said.
A 20-bed Ayurveda hospital has been functioning at Ribandar along with a research institute. 5 more OPDs will be launched soon. Two 50-bed hospitals will be started in the state soon. Of these, work on Margao hospital has started, another hospital will be started at Sakhali, informed Union Minister Shripad Naik.
